SACHIN BECOME BHARAT RATNA


Sachin Tendulkar is the first sportsperson to become the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. The Prime Minister's Office made the announcement hours after Tendulkar retired from his 24-year international career.

In this occasion, once again we can go through what are the milestones in sachin journey to became Bharat Ratna.

He born in 1973, April 24th at Mumbai.

He scored hundred in his first class appearance in 1988 for Mumbai against Gujarat in a ranji trophy match. With this century, he becomes youngest cricketer to score a century in his first class debut. His age at that time is 15 years 232 days.

He makes test debut against Pakistan in 1989. He played his first test match in Karachi at the age of 16 years. He has done his ODI debut also in this series, but his first appearance in ODI get duck. He was dismissed by Waqar in that innings.

He makes his fist Test century against England in 1990 at Old Trafford. This innings was sweet in his memory for not only for his first century, but it comes in a needed situation. This century helps India to avoid defeat and settles with a draw.

At the age of 19 years he becomes overseas player who represent for Yorkshire.It happend in 1992.

In 1994 September 9th, he made his first ODI century against Sri Lanka at Colombo. He achieves this feat at his 79th ODI outing.

In 1996 Sachin became leading run scorer at world cup, which was organized by India, SriLanka, and Pakistan combinedly. He scored total 523 runs in that tournament. He also became captain for the Indian cricket team in this year. But he is not successful as a captain. He won only 4 tests in his captaincy.    

In 1997, he named as Wisden Cricketer of the year.

In 1998, he scored his first double century in his international cricket career. He done it against Australia in Brabourne Stadium.

In 1999, he participate in highest partnership with Rahul Dravid by 339 runs partnership against New Zeland. In the same match he socred highest individual score for India (186* at that time) by beating KapilDev 175* runs record.

In 2000, he gives up captaincy of Indian cricket team, and decided to continue as a player only. He said that he giveup the captaincy to concentrate more on his batting.

In 2001, he faced a suspension in the name of ball tampering during the match against South Africa at St George's Park, Port Elizabeth. But that ban was lifted by ICC after an investigation.

In 2003, he bacomes the Player of the tournament by making 673 runs. These runs are highest ever in the World Cup history by an individual.

In 2005, he becomes the highest centurion in tests by over taking Sunil Gavaskar's 34 test centuries. He claimed his 35th century against Sri Lanka in Delhi.

In 2006, he overtakes Kapil Dev highest test appearances(134) for India.

In 2007, he become highest run scorer in away tests by passing Brain Lara's record. In the same year, he also becomes first player in ODI history to score 15k runs.

In 2008, he recorded highest individual ODI appearances by playing against Australia at 417 ODI. In the same year he also becomes highest run scorer in Tests by passing Lara's previous mark 11,953.

In 2010, he becomes first double centurion in ODI history. He achieves this one against South Africa.  In the same year, he named as player of tournment for IPL3(in the age of 37 years) by scoring highest runs in tournament. In the same fruitful year, he becomes first player to get 50 centuries in test history. This one also achieved against South Africa.

In 2011, his long wait to became a member in ODI World Champion team comes true. India won world cup 2011, where he made two more centuries as a contribution. In the same year, he becomes first player to complete 15k runs in test history.

In 2012, he completed his 100th century in both formats. It was come against Bangladesh in Asia Cup. It was the last tournament he played in ODIs. He played his last ODI against Pakistan and made an half century. He also nominated as Rajya Sabha member (MP) in this year.

In 2013, he announces his retirement from all format of the game after appearing his 200th test match against West Indies.  In the last Test match also he broke one record by completing his 24 years of grand international career.

In the same where sachin leaves cricket, he became Bharat Ratna. Here also he became first player to get that award.
